A Brief History

It was in the Spring of 2006 that six men who lived in Blowing Rock decided to meet every Friday morning at 8:00 for an hour or so. The purpose was to experience and enjoy the  camaraderie that emanates from Christian men gathering together for fellowship and prayer. The bonds that developed from love and concern for one another proved an incredible blessing. The men were Steady Cash, now deceased, Reggie Bray, Steve Joyce, Coleman Ratterree, Jim Steele and Tucker Yates.

In an effort to do something pleasing to their Lord, these men, in 2008, decided to start a Bible Study, open to all men in the High Country. When the late Kent Tarbutton warmly invited them to meet at his beautiful Chetola Resort, they knew that God had smiled on and confirmed their decision. The name decided upon, “The Men’s Connection Bible Study", seemed fitting, connecting men together to not only study God’s Word, but also to experience the joy and fellowship which such inevitably brings. Applicable was the biblical truth that “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17). NKJV

The Men’s Connection Bible Study continues every Tuesday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 and all men are invited to attend!

Our current Leadership Team is Reggie Bray, Bill Glass, Richard Hines, Frank McLane, Paul Pierce, Fairfax Reynolds, Jim Steele, and Tucker Yates.
